Conference League semi-finals in full swing
The return leg of the semi-final between Fiorentina and Real Betis was held at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on May 8. Fiorentina recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Roma in Serie A. The team conceded a goal just before half-time and was left with ten men at the end of the match after one of their players was sent off. However, statistics show that they have not lost in the last thirteen Conference League matches at home.
Real Betis arrived in Florence after beating Espanyol in La Liga, where they won 2-1. Although the first goal of the match was scored by the opponents in the 28th minute, Betis were already leading 1-0 by the end of the first half. They equalized in the second half and then scored the winner in stoppage time. This was the team’s fifth victory in a row in all competitions. In La Liga they also beat Girona away and Valladolid at home, while in the Conference League they beat Fiorentina at home and drew 1-1 with Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Fiorentina have regularly reached the Conference League final in recent years, but have failed to take the final step to victory twice in a row. In contrast, for Betis even reaching the semi-finals was a significant achievement. Under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini, the team has demonstrated a confident game without unnecessary noise and is now ready to surprise everyone in the final stage of the tournament.
In the previous match, Goossens scored twice for Fiorentina, while goals were scored by Anthony and Eze Abde for Betis.
If you want to attend the final match at Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw, tickets are still available. Hurry to get the best seats!
