In the meeting, which took place in the capital of France, the home team actively imposed their attacking game on Mikel Arteta's charges from the first minutes. In the 27th minute, midfielder Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring. In the middle of the second half, PSG's Portuguese Vitinho failed to convert a penalty, but soon Achraf Hakimi doubled his team's lead. The English responded with a goal from Bukayo Saka in the 76th minute. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov remained on the bench in this match and is unlikely to take to the field in the final in Munich.
Italian Inter became the second finalist, reaching the final stage of the tournament for the seventh time. The team has won the Champions League three times (in 1964, 1965 and 2010). In the semi-finals, they met Barcelona. The first game ended in a draw, but the Italians confidently won in the second meeting. Lautaro Martinez scored the first goal in the 21st minute, and Hakan Calhanoglu increased the lead thanks to a penalty. The Catalans responded with a goal from Eric Garcia and a goal from Daniel Olmo, which equalized the score. However, Rafinha again put the visitors ahead.
