Astana to host British Chelsea

For Chelsea players, a match in Kazakhstan in December will be a difficult test, and a long flight to the capital of the Republic will not add energy. But the UEFA Conference League approved the away match for Chelsea in Astana several months ago.

Grigory Babayan's charges will play on their home field with the powerful support of the stands of the Astana Arena. At the Central Stadium in Almaty, the capital club beat Serbian Backa Topola by a minimum score. Afterwards, there was much talk that this fall, they said that the club would not play at home until 2025, but after the Conference League draw, where London's Chelsea was among the opponents, it was decided to complete the stadium repairs and replace the turf by December, so that in the future, the capital team of Kazakhstan would still play on its home field in European Cups. Grigory Babayan's team will also play against Cypriot Pafos (November 7, away), Portuguese Vitoria Guimaraes (November 28, home), London Chelsea (December 12, home) and Cypriot APOEL (December 19, away).

Babayan noted that if Astana Arena is finished, the team will invite a team from the KPL to play a friendly match, and if that doesn't work out, they will go to play in Turkey or Europe.

Seven-time champion of Kazakhstan and three-time winner of the Kazakhstan Cup, Astana is now an opponent to be reckoned with. The most prominent player of last season was Abzal Beisebekova, who showed himself well last year and, thanks to his experience and versatility, filled several positions in the team. Also interesting is the defenseman Max Ebong. A year ago, he was also recognized as the best player in Belarus. He played almost four dozen matches for Astana and repeatedly distinguished himself with effective scoring actions in conjunction with the forwards of the capital team.

Chelsea also has its share of stars. What is Cole Palmer alone worth, who became the best player of the year according to a unanimous vote of fans. In the Chelsea uniform, he has 11 points in seven games in the Premier League. Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka are also very productive players.
