Description
Volgograd Arena is a modern football stadium in Volgograd, built specifically for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This impressive structure, located on the picturesque bank of the Volga River at the foot of Mamayev Kurgan, replaced the old Central Stadium and became a new emblem of the region's sports and cultural life.
During the World Cup, Volgograd Arena hosted four group stage matches, attracting the attention of football fans from all over the world. Today, the stadium is the home ground for the Rotor football club and is used as a multifunctional space for various public events.
The stadium seats 45,000 spectators, offering special areas for the press, VIP guests and people with disabilities. The football field has standard dimensions - 105 by 67 meters, and its natural grass provides excellent conditions for matches.
The architectural design of the stadium is unique: the facades are made in the form of an inverted truncated cone made of openwork steel mesh. This design not only allows for a compact placement of the facility on the site, but also creates an impressive visual effect. The height of the facades reaches 42.3 meters, and the diameter of the upper part is 290 meters, gradually decreasing to 262 meters at the base. Diagonal elements give the facades a concave shape, creating artistic expressiveness. Small details are located inside the diamond-shaped forms, which complement the unique architectural composition.
