Bollard-Delelis

Stadiums

Description

Welcome to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, the heart of Lens’ sporting life and one of the most important arenas in France. Opened in 1933, this legendary stadium was named after Félix Bollaert, who played a key role in the development of sport in the region. In 2012, the name of André Delelis was added to the stadium’s name, who was mayor of Lens for 32 years and made a huge contribution to the development of the city.

The Stade Bollaert-Delelis is more than just an arena, it is a place where the most intense sporting emotions come to life. With a capacity of 38,223 spectators, it creates an atmosphere in which every match becomes an unforgettable event. The natural grass pitch, measuring 105 x 68 metres, is ideal for hosting matches at the highest level.

Throughout its history, the stadium has hosted many major competitions, including the 1984 European Football Championship, the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 1999 and 2007 Rugby World Cups. In 2016, it hosted exciting matches at the European Championship, including a tense encounter between Portugal and Croatia in the Round of 16.

Today, Bollaert-Delelis continues to be a centre of attraction for sports fans, hosting matches of the French Football Championship (Ligue 1) in the 2024-25 seasons.
