Description
NRG Stadium, located at 1 NRG Parkway in Houston, Texas, is a modern, multi-purpose sports complex that opened in 2002. It was the first National Football League (NFL) arena with a retractable roof, highlighting its innovative approach to event management. The stadium is the home of the Houston Texans and can accommodate up to 72,220 spectators, with a capacity of up to 80,000 for special events. The architectural design was developed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport), and construction cost $352 million. NRG Stadium is part of the NRG Park complex, which also includes NRG Center, NRG Arena, and the iconic Astrodome. Originally known as Reliant Stadium, the stadium received its current name following the acquisition of Reliant Energy by NRG Energy. In 2026, the arena will host the FIFA World Cup and will temporarily be known as Houston Stadium. For up-to-date information on the event schedule and schedule, we recommend visiting our website.
