Description
Lusail Stadium is a modern, world-class sports complex located in the city of Lusail, approximately 20 kilometers north of Doha. Owned by the Qatar Football Association, the stadium had a capacity of 88,966 spectators upon opening, making it the largest stadium in the country and the Middle East, as well as one of the largest football venues in Asia.
Construction of Lusail Stadium began in April 2017 and was carried out jointly by HBK Contracting and China Railway Construction Corporation. The arena officially opened on September 9, 2022, with the Lusail Super Cup. Its history culminated in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, where Argentina and France met on December 18. The stadium has hosted ten World Cup matches, including the final.
Lusail Stadium features modern engineering solutions and an eco-friendly concept. The arena is equipped with a solar-powered cooling system and is billed as a facility with a minimal carbon footprint. In 2022, the stadium received the highest five-star GSAS rating for the quality of its design and construction.
After the World Cup, the arena is planned to be transformed: its capacity will be reduced to 40,000 seats, and the vacated space will be converted into public areas, shops, cafes, sports and educational facilities. Lusail Stadium has already hosted the finals of the 2023 Asian Cup, the 2024 Intercontinental Cup, and the 2025 Arab Nations Cup, and in 2026 it will become the venue for the Finalissima between the national teams of Spain and Argentina.
Today, Lusail Stadium remains one of the key sporting arenas in the region. On our website, you can purchase tickets for matches and other events taking place at this arena, choosing convenient seats and purchasing method.
